Situated in the solar world famous city of Lhasa, located in northeastern magnificent Potala Palace, is the campus of Traditional Tibetan Medicine College, the area of 82133 sq meters and construction area of 32281.63 sq meters. The garden-like landscape, with strong traditional cultural, has inspired and motivated generations of students. Library collect the best valuable "Buddhist scriptures", 2100 volumes of traditional Tibetan medicine classics and nearly 100 color images of traditional Tibetan medical teaching; Experimental specimens have been collected more than 1,000 kinds by Tibetan medicine center of specimens; The museum of Tibetan medical astronomical calendar is the first specialized museum displaying Tibetan nationality outstanding culture.
    With a splendid legacy accumulated over the past 17 years, TTMC has retained its traditional character and promoted rigorous scholarship. Up to 2005, The faculty currently has 145, among 66 full-time and part-time teachers, 24 postgraduate tutors there are a total of 1028 students in the campus, among which 36 are undergraduates and vocational training students, 34 master’s degree candidates, 2 doctorate degree candidates.
As the sole college to have right to grant the Tibetan medicine master degree, At present, the College consists of the three departments: department of Tibetan medicine, department of Tibetan Pharmacy, department of astronomy calendar; a granting Tibetan medical master degree, one basic laboratory built by center and region, one key laboratory built by ministry and province.
