Practical education is the key method of teaching Tibetan medicine and cultivating students’ability of experiments and practice. Along with the revolution and development of higher education of Tibet medicine, the approach and instruments are improved into a new phase. Our college has clinical ability lab, human physiology lab, modern medical skills lab, organic chemistry lab, inorganic chemistry lab and so on. In addition, we have several Tibet hospitals and clinics around.
Tibet autonomous regional hospital was established in 1916, which was called Menzikang for its first use for astronomic calendar. The construction area occupies 60,000 square meters, including clinics, the in-patient department, medicine factory, Tibetan medicine research institute, which can serve 200,000 patients with 260 beds. In 1996, it was awarded as the exceptional Tibetan hospital. In 1999, it was granted as excellent group of national sanitation system. In 2005, it was conferred as the rank 1 minority hospital.
South Mountain Tibetan hospital was built in 1982, based on the old Tibetan medical department of people’s hospital, occupying 28134.37 square meters. It has 119 stuff, among which 7 are senior , 22 are junior along with a group of prestigious doctors. The hospital was honored many times by the government, particularly as the first qualified hospital among all the Tibetan hospitals. |
